I'm a graphic designer specialising in illustration and book design. I've worked on various publications over the years with numerous authors, including Antonia Fraser (Scottish Love Poems), Alasdair Gray (Lanark) and Yan Martel (Life of Pi). I have also designed and illustrated record sleeves for various musicians and bands, including The Incredible String Band and Steve Winwood.
A few years ago, I won the Adobe ‘Assemble’ Design Award for my contribution to the National Museum of Scotland’s bicentennial Robert Burns exhibition, ‘Pride and Passion’.
I’ve been a visiting lecturer at Leeds University, Edinburgh College of Art, Dundee College of Art & Design and Napier University. I was Art Director at Canongate Books before moving to Birlinn, where I was Creative Director.
